These terms cover your use of Boots to Benefits, including this website, the free letter decoder, and the paid VA Claims Copilot membership. We kept the language plain on purpose. If something here is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we will explain it.

Accepting these terms

By using this site or any of its tools, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. If you use the paid membership, these terms apply to that too, along with anything specific we tell you at signup.

What Boots to Benefits is

Boots to Benefits is a veteran-run site that explains the VA disability system in plain English. Most of what we publish is free educational information: guides, worked examples, and the free letter decoder. We also offer an optional paid tool, the VA Claims Copilot membership, for veterans who want more help working through their own situation.

To be clear about what we are not:

• We are not the VA, and we are not affiliated with the VA or any government agency.
• We are not a law firm, and nobody here is acting as your attorney.
• We are not a VA-accredited representative, agent, or Veterans Service Organization.

Using this site, reading our guides, or paying for the membership does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not make us your representative before the VA. We cannot file a claim for you, speak to the VA for you, or act on your behalf.

No legal advice, and no guarantee of outcome

Everything on this site is general education, not legal advice about your specific claim. Your claim depends on your own records, your evidence, and your exams, and no two situations are identical. We cannot and do not promise any particular result, rating, or amount of money.

You are responsible for the decisions you make about your own claim. Before you act on anything you read here, get advice on your specific situation from a free VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization, or from an accredited attorney or claims agent. These representatives are trained, accountable, and in most cases free, and they can look at your full file in a way we cannot.

About the tools

The free decoder and the paid Copilot both use AI to produce plain-English explanations. A few honest limits you should know before you rely on them:

• They work only from what you give them. They do not have access to your full VA file, your complete medical records, or anything the VA has not shown you.
• AI-generated explanations can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. Treat what the tools produce as a starting point to understand your paperwork, not as a final answer.
• The tools are not a substitute for professional representation. They do not replace a VA-accredited representative, an attorney, or a claims agent.

Always check anything important against the original source, such as your actual decision letter, VA.gov, or the regulation itself, and run big decisions past an accredited representative.

Accounts, memberships, and payments

The VA Claims Copilot is a paid subscription. Billing is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. When you subscribe, you agree to the price shown at signup, and your membership renews on a recurring basis until you cancel.

You can cancel anytime, and your access continues through the end of the period you already paid for. We do not offer automatic refunds for time already elapsed, but if something went wrong, email us at [email protected] and we will look at refund requests fairly and case by case. Keep your account details accurate, and keep your login to yourself.

Acceptable use

Please use the site the way it is meant to be used. Do not try to break, overload, or interfere with the service. Do not scrape or bulk-copy the content, do not attempt to get around security or access controls, do not use the tools to break the law, and do not resell or repackage what we provide as if it were your own. We may suspend access that abuses the service or these terms.

Intellectual property

The writing, design, and tools on this site are owned by Boots to Benefits. You are welcome to read our guides, share links, and use what you learn for your own claim. What you may not do is republish our content wholesale, copy it onto another site, or present it as your own work. If you want to quote or reference something, a short excerpt with a link back is fine.

Links to other sites

We link out to trustworthy sources like VA.gov and the eCFR so you can verify things yourself and read the rules in their original form. Those sites are run by other people, and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their own terms. When you follow a link off this site, the other site's rules apply, not ours.

The site is provided "as is"

We work hard to keep the information here accurate and current, but we provide the site and its tools "as is," without warranties of any kind. Rules change, our tools can make mistakes, and we cannot promise the site will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Boots to Benefits is not liable for losses that result from using, or being unable to use, the site or its tools. Because the stakes on a VA claim are real, this is exactly why we keep telling you to confirm anything important with an accredited representative.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the site grows or the law changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top. If you keep using the site after a change, that means you accept the updated terms. It is worth checking back now and then.
